Multilingual WordPress is one of those things that looks simple until you try to run it in production. Polylang or WPML doubles (or triples, or quintuples) your post count. - MariaDB configuration includes a larger InnoDB buffer pool and adaptive hash indexes sized for the compound key patterns Polylang uses.

Our config removes the classic wp_options bloat pattern (transients not autoloaded, expired transients pruned nightly), tunes autoload intelligently so a slow lookup doesn’t hold every admin page hostage, and gives every WP-cron job its own worker so heavy imports don’t starve page views.

Migration and setup
Authority includes a free migration for one site. Where it differs from Speed’s migration is what we do for multilingual sites:
- We migrate the Polylang or WPML configuration itself, not just the posts — language slugs, URL structure, per-language menus, per-language widgets, hreflang alternates, and Yoast/RankMath language-specific meta.
- We audit the translated media library and pick up orphaned attachments (a common problem where a translation was deleted but its featured image wasn’t).
- We validate hreflang across every URL against your intended language matrix and fix any missing self-references or mis-scoped x-default tags.
- We test each language on a staging URL before flipping DNS.
On a typical Authority migration we finish inside one to two business days depending on translation volume.
