02What we collect
We only collect the personal data you actively provide when you submit a form on the site (order, quote, contact) or when you email us. Fields typically include your name, company, email, phone, country, project brief, and — for invoicing — VAT ID and postal address.
Server logs record request metadata (timestamp, IP address, user agent, referrer) for security and abuse prevention. IPs are hashed after 30 days.
03Purposes and legal basis
- Reply to your enquiry and prepare a written proposal — pre-contractual measures (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Perform contracted services, issue invoices and collect payment — contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Comply with US and EU accounting and tax obligations — legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).
- Protect the site from abuse and fraud — legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
04Retention
Order and quote records are kept for the duration of the engagement plus 10 years for tax and accounting compliance. Contact requests without engagement are deleted after 24 months. Server logs are rotated at 90 days; hashed IP entries at 12 months.
05Sub-processors and transfers
We use vetted sub-processors listed on our Sub-processors page. Data is stored in the EU where possible; some services (US-based hosting, analytics, email) transfer data to the United States under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (2021/914).
06Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise any right, email [email protected]; we reply within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in the EU) or with the FTC (in the US).
07Cookies and analytics

08Security
We maintain reasonable technical and organisational measures — TLS 1.3, encrypted backups, access logging, principle of least privilege. Report security issues via our Security disclosure.
09Children
The EKSNEKS site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe we have, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
